There have been a few more Pre-Season tasks to do and some I have found really challenging...
Pre-Season Task 4: Gear Up!!!
Ok first things first- Join a gym. This was the easy step because I am already a member of the gym. Now the hard bit- ACTUALLY GO TO THE GYM... lol
Next was to find an outdoor area appropriate for workouts. My friend and I already have a walking track with nice grass areas for exercising. I think the lake will be the perfect outdoor area plus the soccer field is not too far away either!!!
Now for training at home: Do I have a big enough area? Well yes I do but I need to utilise it.
Equipment:
- Shoes- yes
- Outfit- yes several
- HRM- yes thanks to my friend :-)
- iPod- well my iPhone will have to do
- Dumbells- yes
- Skipping rope, exercise bands, DVD's- yes
Pre-Season Task 5: Say it Out loud
Well this is where we had to be truthful and actually put it out there what our commitment was. Share it with the world and be proud!!!
Here is what I wrote in the commitment thread:
This is it the moment of truth... It is time to actually Commit and DO rather than just SAY!!!!
I commit to training 6 days a week. My training will consist of PT twice a week, gym 3-5 times a week, walking/ jogging at home EVERY DAY of the week.
I commit to changing my eating habits. I will limit my daily intake to what is healthy and what is good for me. I will do what it takes to make myself the healthy person I want to be.
I commit to losing 15-20kg this Challenge. I will do the exercises I am told to do, I will eat the food I am told o eat. I will Succeed because failure is not an option.
I commit to NOT letting the inner demons, little voices, negative thoughts and Excuses stop me from achieving what I want.
I must be Courageous to make the Commitment to Change.
I am ready to change my life for the better.

I'm not ready to share it on FB just yet but I think putting it here is just as brave!!!
Pre-Season Task 6: Kitchen Make-Over
The truth is I waited until after my 30th celebration to do this one...
I find it hard to bring myself to throw away perfectly good food I paid for!!! So for now it is sitting in a box and my partner will probably take it work and eat it or give it away (he doesn't have a weight problem).
Thankfully the stuff in the box isn't completely horrible- I have been trying to eat more healthy for a while now.
Pre-Season Task 7: Organise and Diarise
The second last task and I have my diary sitting in front of me... FRIDAY will be my shopping day- top-up day will be TUESDAY. I need to be well organised to make sure I have all items for my weekly menu's.
Red Flagging events that could pose a danger for training etc... well I don't think I have any in the next 12 weeks... A few birthdays to contend with Easter and ANZAC day will be the only issues.
I know the best time to train is early morning but the creche at the gym doesn't open until 9. So once I get the eldest to school it is off to the gym with my youngest. I can train at home earlier when my partner is at home to help get the kids ready in the morning.
So there you go pre-season's are up to date and I am ready to make this change!!!!
Pre-Season Task 8 is: Measure Up!!! Now that is scary (opens on feb 9th)
Peta xx
